There’s eight months to go before Apple is expected to launch its next iPhone, but rumours are already rife about what the firm has in store for us.
The latest rumours suggest that the 2019 iPhone – the name of which remains unclear – will have a new charging cable.
While Apple’s smartphones currently feature a Lightning charging port, a new report by Macotakaras uggests that the 2019 iPhone will make the jump to a USB-C port.
If true, this would make sense, given that Apple made the change to USB-C in its 2018 iPad.
However, the report adds that ‘those who are working on’ the new USB-C indicate it has not yet reached the reference design stage.
This suggests that we may have to wait slightly longer to see the change.
While Apple is yet to confirm the news, fans are hoping that it’s true.
